 Flight Training is offered
free of charge to
any Omahawks R/C Member. Instructors are at Hawk Field regularly
and are available to assist you if you request it. For your safety
and that of others, new students and non-soloed pilots are required to fly with an
instructor until you have been soloed through the training
program.

Recommended Links Assistance with building projects is
also available from the instructors upon request. Instructors can
be identified and contacted by referencing the Membership Roster or
from the list provided below.
 During summer months (April
through September) a structured training program is offered each
Thursday evening from 6:00 to dark. Instructors are available to
assist you during this time; buddy cords a nd buddy boxes are
provided by the club as well. Sport flying that would
disrupt effective training activities or prevent students from
flying due to frequency conflicts are discouraged during this
time.
The Omahawks training staff has also compiled an excellent
R/C
Flight Training Manual (This is a PDF file and may be opened
using Adobe Acrobat Reader). This manual parallels the Flight log,
used by the instructors to document the students proficiency
level, and will give the student and idea of what is expected to
pass each flight level. All students are encouraged to study this
manual in preparation for instruction.
 Since 1953, the Omahawks have provided a
successful and well respected flight training
program to individuals looking to embark on an
exciting and rewarding hobby. If you have never
flown radio controlled aircraft and have always wanted to get
involved in this exciting and rewarding hobby, now is the time
to get involved. Even if you do not currently own
an airplane at
this time, you can come out to our field and meet with our
instructors and they will let you fly our club-owned airplanes to see if this hobby is right for you.
